AOL Chat 10/19/00

I missed a little bit of this, but from the answer I'm sure you can figure out the question.

OrgyLive: Amir: We were going to do some sort

OrgyLive: of cover song, and we tried a few things, but

OrgyLive: We had no idea it was going to be a big

OrgyLive: hit.

OrgyLive: Paige: It was never attended to be what it

OrgyLive: became.

Question: Was there more pressure to create a successful second album?

OrgyLive: Amir: Actually, no.

OrgyLive: We didn't feel there was a lot of pressure.

OrgyLive: We feel everyone else probably thought there

OrgyLive: was more pressure, rather than us. We actually

OrgyLive: had a lot of fun making this record, and we

OrgyLive: had more time to do it. We didn't realize

OrgyLive: any of that until we were done with the record -- that

OrgyLive: it was important that the record turned out

OrgyLive: good.

Question: In what ways has your music grown or changed since your first

album?

OrgyLive: Paige: I think it's matured a lot more, from

OrgyLive: all of us being around each other on the

OrgyLive: road, we've gotten a lot more tighter as a

OrgyLive: band.

OrgyLive: Amir: Our first record was more of an expiriment,

OrgyLive: with this one we have more of an idea of

OrgyLive: what we want to do, we have more of a

OrgyLive: direction.

Question: Whose idea was it to wear make-up, and why do you do it?

OrgyLive: Paige: There's no concept behind it. Since

OrgyLive: I've been in my first bands, I've always worn

OrgyLive: makeup. Jay has as well. Everyone has

OrgyLive: pretty much always been down with making

OrgyLive: more of a show, which means making that

OrgyLive: part of our concept.

Question: Who is your most unusual musical inspiration?

RunTs RuLe: (2) steph....

OrgyLive: Paige: Probably drums, bass, and electronical

OrgyLive: sounds like that -- anything with different

OrgyLive: sounds has been a big inspiration. Stuff

OrgyLive: that doesn't sound like the norm.

Question: How the group get their first record deal?

OrgyLive: Bobby: Jay and Ryan wrote some stuff,

OrgyLive: and soon after that people from the firm got

OrgyLive: very interested. At the same time, Korn, which

OrgyLive: was with the firm also, were putting together

OrgyLive: a record company and they were completely

OrgyLive: interested. Then, everything just seemed

OrgyLive: to fall in place. Next thing we knew, we were

OrgyLive: up in Tahoe recording our record.

Question: What inspired the song "Eva"?

OrgyLive: Amir: "Eva" was Josh, our producer's, mom. When

OrgyLive: we first started recording, we used to record in what

OrgyLive: we called Josh's garage. All of us used to work there

OrgyLive: in Josh's, or Eva's, garage. She was really nice

OrgyLive: but she was always really sick. She passed away

OrgyLive: about a year ago. So, we had this song

OrgyLive: and it just sort of fell together with what

OrgyLive: had happened, and Jay wrote it through

OrgyLive: Josh's prospective.

Question: I was just wondering who are the bands each of you look up to?

OrgyLive: Amir: Definitely Korn. It's way up there.

OrgyLive: There are a lot of bands.

OrgyLive: Paige: Tear, Korn. For me a lot of early

OrgyLive: Metallica, believe it or not -- they were a

OrgyLive: big inspiration.

Question: How did you meet and decide to form a band?

OrgyLive: Amir: We all met through Jay, we're all

OrgyLive: mutual friends. We met Ryan through Korn,

OrgyLive: we've known him the least amount of time.

OrgyLive: We all met through Jay -- hanging out, partying,

OrgyLive: going to shows.

Question: Where did you come up with the CD name "Vapor Transmission"?

OrgyLive: Paige: When we were recording the album,

OrgyLive: Jay had a lot of scattered stuff written down.

OrgyLive: When it came down to it, at the last minute,

OrgyLive: when we needed a title and we didn't have

OrgyLive: one, Jay just said call it "Vapor Transmission."

OrgyLive: Amir: We thought it sounded cool. Obviously

OrgyLive: it can have many different meanings, but

OrgyLive: whatever.

Question: First I would like to say the new Album is incredible, My question

is

Question: with the new CD you guys have showed that you are more complex

music

Question: wise than most people predicted, do you feel that new CD is a

better

Question: reflection of the music you listen to?

AOLiveMC15: In the song "Where's Gerrold," who is Gerrold?

OrgyLive: Amir: It's more focused. It's a little more

OrgyLive: where we probably should have been on

OrgyLive: the first record.

OrgyLive: Paige: Gerrold is a friend of ours who lives

OrgyLive: in New Orleans. He's someone we've met

OrgyLive: on the road, and hung out with. He's pretty

OrgyLive: cool. You never know where he's at, and

OrgyLive: he will just pop up in the most random

OrgyLive: places. We haven't seen him in a long time,

OrgyLive: and then all of a sudden he's on a Madonna

OrgyLive: video -- so, where is Gerrold?

Question: Which song on the album took the longest to complete?

OrgyLive: Amir: Probably "Fiction."

OrgyLive: Bobby: Probably "Eva" probably, because

OrgyLive: we started it before our first record. So -- it

OrgyLive: would probably be "Eva."

Question: what type of hardware do you use to get that techno sound?

OrgyLive: Amir: We use everything piece of material

OrgyLive: that is out there. Anything that will make

OrgyLive: noise, we have it.

OrgyLive: Paige: We have anything that can make

OrgyLive: crazy sounds. So that's kind of hard to

OrgyLive: pinpoint.

Question: What do you guys think of Napster?

OrgyLive: Paige: Good for them. It doesn't matter.

OrgyLive: At first I think everybody was scared about

OrgyLive: it before they knew much about it. Once you

OrgyLive: figure out that everyone on Napster has

OrgyLive: had the biggest debuts ever, you find it really

OrgyLive: doesn't hurt. So, whatever.

Question: Where do most of your inspirations for your songs come from?

OrgyLive: Paige: Probably everyday life, and whatever

OrgyLive: happens to you during the day, or in clubs,

OrgyLive: I don't know -- life in general.

Question: Do you guys have a website?

OrgyLive: as well.

Question: What do you guys think about the future of music and the Internet

as

Question: a means of distributing or purchasing CD's?

OrgyLive: Amir: I think it's definitely going to happen.

OrgyLive: Bobby: There's definitely a lot more kids

OrgyLive: around the world that can purchase a record

OrgyLive: the probably wouldn't get in the stores.

OrgyLive: Amir: We think it's a good thing, but we

OrgyLive: don't think it's going to take over soon. It

OrgyLive: always takes time to make a big technology

OrgyLive: change-over.

Question: What's going on with the whole farmclub performance?

OrgyLive: Paige: We're going to play a couple of

OrgyLive: songs, I guess.

OrgyLive: Bobby: A lot of the times for all of these

OrgyLive: things we don't know until the last minute.

OrgyLive: So, we're going to play a couple of songs.

OrgyLive: I think we play it on Monday.

Question: How hard is it to keep up with relationships/family situations

while

Question: being on the road?

OrgyLive: Paige: It's actually really hard.

OrgyLive: It's definitely hard at times, but it's cool

OrgyLive: because you can have your girlfriend hangout

OrgyLive: with you at times. But, there are some

OrgyLive: hard times.

Question: How and why did you choose "Orgy" your name?

OrgyLive: Paige: Because it sounded cool.

OrgyLive: Amir: It's the only name we'd ever consider.

OrgyLive: Paige: We never even had a backup. Plus,

OrgyLive: we figured people wouldn't forget it that

OrgyLive: easy.

Question: What do you do on a typical day? What do you do when youre not

doing

Question: anything Orgy related?

OrgyLive: Paige: Everything is always Orgy related.

OrgyLive: Amir: We actually kind of do it a lot. But,

OrgyLive: we go to movies, we're normal people. We

OrgyLive: like to play with gadgets, clothes.

OrgyLive: We just like to go out.

OrgyLive: Paige: Shopping is always an option.

Question: When is the next music video coming out?

OrgyLive: Amir: Hopefully in January, but we'll see.

OrgyLive: We're shooting for early next year.

OrgyLive: Paige: We're in the process of doing the

OrgyLive: storyboards for it right now, but it's already

OrgyLive: kind of behind schedule.

Question: hi! Is there anyone you would like to work with, that you haven't

yet?

OrgyLive: Amir: Deisel Boy.

AOLiveMC6: Here is one for Paige...

Question: Paige, I think your the hottest guy in the band. How do you get

your

Question: hair to stick up like that, without it looking hard and crappy?

OrgyLive: Paige: I just wrap the heck out of it, and

OrgyLive: spray it with hairspray. I hold pieces up

OrgyLive: until it takes shape. I chop it with a razor

OrgyLive: all of the time, so it has that crazy shape

Question: do you guys feel you make the music for fame and fortune or for

Question: releasing emotion and having fun?

OrgyLive: Paige: It's totally just for like -- doing music.

OrgyLive: We like everything about it. The fame and

OrgyLive: fortune part comes if people enjoy it. If they

OrgyLive: enjoy it you get fame and fortune.

Question: Orgy, what's the most interesting city in which you've performed?

OrgyLive: Paige: There are so many places, that's

OrgyLive: such a hard question.

OrgyLive: Amir: We have fun everywhere, it's rare

OrgyLive: Paige: It's hard to say. I think definitely when

OrgyLive: we're away from LA is a good show. Pretty

OrgyLive: much anywhere but LA.

Question: i loved your Blue Monday cover...any other resurected tunes coming

Question: our way?

OrgyLive: Paige: Maybe.

OrgyLive: Amir: I'm sure we'll cover some at some point.

OrgyLive: I don't know when, or what, though. You

OrgyLive: never know.

Question: With all your fame, do you ever get annoyed when fans approach you

on

Question: the streets or wherever you are?

OrgyLive: Bobby: No.

OrgyLive: Amir: Not as long as they're respectful

OrgyLive: and cool.

OrgyLive: Paige: As long as they're in control.

Question: Has any of you ever thought of going solo?

OrgyLive: All: No.

Question: you guys seem to be really gearing this record towards the fans,

with

Question: all the extra CDs, the recent Orgy ball and such. any sort of

really

Question: interactive plans for the tour?

OrgyLive: Paige: We interact with our fans every night.

OrgyLive: We always go out with our fans after shows

OrgyLive: and hangout. We do as much as we can.

OrgyLive: Amir: I'm sure there will be some other

OrgyLive: things though. It's still a little far off to know

OrgyLive: what we're doing.

OrgyLive: Paige: We like to party, so we will through

OrgyLive: parties.

Question: Which songs off the new album will be the most difficult to

Question: perform live?

OrgyLive: Paige: None of them are difficult to play.

OrgyLive: When we record, we write down everything

OrgyLive: and get it all set.

OrgyLive: Bobby: For me playing drums I just sit

OrgyLive: down and try to work with it, and it sounds

OrgyLive: great when we play it live now, it sounds

OrgyLive: killer.

Question: What happend to the song you used to play at concerts, "Sonic"?

OrgyLive: Paige: We're probably going to bring "Sonic"

OrgyLive: around eventually. We'll throw it in here

OrgyLive: and there, but we have never recorded it.

OrgyLive: Amir: We started the song, along with others.

OrgyLive: We have a lot of "skeletons" laying around that

OrgyLive: we'll probably get finished. We have some

OrgyLive: ideas for it, and we'll probably finish it at

OrgyLive: some point.

OrgyLive: Amir: Thanks for buying our new record.

OrgyLive: We're going to be out on the road forever

OrgyLive: on the next tour.

OrgyLive: Paige: We're going to see everyone. We

OrgyLive: like to hangout with everybody, so we will

OrgyLive: see you all soon!
